Unless you have been sleeping under a rock, I’m sure you have heard that the Team USA Women’s Gymnastics Team earned a Gold Medal in the London Olympics! Back in May, I was assigned to photograph 3 gymnasts for upcoming stories for USA Today and US Presswire. The first one was the current World Champion Jordyn Wieber.
Jordyn was an absolute pleasure to get to know and photograph! We had a fun time and the photos came out great!
For the photoshoot, I was told I needed to get a few standard uniform shots and then get some fun and casual ones(my favorite type to shoot) to supplement any stories, etc…
Here are a few of the results…
Here is a good behind the scenes view of how I setup this shot. (Thx again to Darryl for all the setup shots.) I really wanted the reflector in close to bounce the light back into Jordyn’s face. I felt adding a second light there would produce too flat of a look and so the reflector worked well!
And the result.
Here’s another one where we put the back strip lights almost horizontally because Jordyn was laying down. This way we could still highlight her hair for separation from the background and highlight her skin for some muscle definition.
I LOVE this Art Print Jennifer and I did.
And a few casual ones I took at the pool area adjacent to my room…
Here are a few stories about Jordyn that I found with some of my images as well…
Congrats again to Jordyn and the rest of the team!
